Painted on burlap from fishing boats that Dali had 'liberated' for his own artistic purposes. Painted in 1921, this work was done at about the same time that Dali's mother died. His father remarried a short time later, to his late wife's sister. This event certainly shaped Dali's personality in many ways, and is the subject of other works to be reviewed here in the future.
